A little more about the ingredients:
Chocolate Chips: The star of the show! You can use semi-sweet, milk chocolate, or dark chocolate chips, depending on your preference. For a gourmet touch, try using a chopped chocolate bar instead of chips for pools of melted chocolate in your cookies.
Enjoy your homemade chocolate chip cookies!
Unsalted Butter: Using unsalted butter allows you to control the amount of salt in your cookies. It’s important that the butter is at room temperature to ensure it creams properly with the sugars, creating a light and airy dough.
Brown and White Sugar: The combination of these two sugars is key to the texture and flavour of the cookies. White sugar helps the cookies spread and gives them a crispier edge, while brown sugar adds moisture and a caramel-like flavour, contributing to a chewier cookie.
Vanilla Extract: A good-quality vanilla extract is essential for adding a warm, rich flavour to your cookies. It enhances the other flavours in the recipe.
